the brief
A Unique 2,200sf. triplex loft built on the roof of a 100 year old warehouse in Portland’s Pearl District. The owners wanted to retain certain industrial elements of this poorly configured space but with a more modern and refined feel. A luxurious master bath and substantial kitchen were additional requirements.
A complete interior demo allowed for the reconfiguration of the space. Infilling the ceiling of the double height dining lounge on the main floor allowed for an additional larger living room on the second floor. A glass enclosed en suite guest room adds a bit of drama. Wide plank French oak flooring and neutral white paint redefined the overwhelmingly warm wood tones of the post and beam ceiling adding brightness while maintaining its industrial character.
