the brief

Project Spec: A concept for a multi-level club in NYC.

Iconic metropolitan elements of NYC – the perpetual state of construction with its inherent chaotic scaffolding and girders, decayed white subway tile buffed by underground winds blasting through by speedy trains, metal and concrete burnished by the patina of time combine to create the industrial and raw vibe of Site club.

The multi-tiered floor plan with ascending balconies provide seating options and views through out the club-optimal people watching…
A massive exploding scaffolding – inspired by the intricate and multi-layered bamboo scaffolding utilized in the far east – drops from the ceiling to the zinc and concrete bar morphing into shelving for bottles and racks for glasses. A patinated zinc counter floats above a solid concrete base via polished stainless rebars. Glass vintage bulbs loop in and out of rows of steel girders in varying heights while the massive glass wall with imbedded led crystals adds its own sparkle.

In a nod to subway stations and tunnels – one of NYC’s most iconic aspects- beautifully damaged subway tile wraps around the curvilinear entry and entry hall leading into the club.
